今回は、記事中(一番左の写真に添えられたキャプション)のare on the pricey sideという表現に注目してみたいと思います。ここでのonは所属の意味を表す「〈集団・組織〉に所属して，…の一員で」(『ウィズダム英和辞典 第二版』三省堂)という意味で、過去にもブログで紹介されているcf. http://d.hatena.ne.jp/A30/20111209/1323434477 be on A's side「A〈人〉の味方である」(ibid)という形の表現で、I'm on your side「私はあなたの味方です。」(英辞郎 on the WEB)という表現が身近で一般的だと思います。
しかし、記事中ではon the pricey sideという形で、「《be 〜》〔商品などが〕高価格帯にある、値段が高い方だ」(英辞郎 on the WEB)という形で用いられています。「値段が高い方に属する」という様なニュアンスでしょうか。
単純にexpensiveなどと言ってしまうのは簡単ですが、この様な表現も是非覚えておきたいと思いました。（Astroriver）
