Cameron fears Iraq effect holding West back in Syria
UK PM David Cameron has expressed concern that international action in Syria may be being held back because of fears of a repeat of the Iraq war.

It follows evidence from the US and the UK that Syrian government troops have used chemical weapons.

The prime minister told the BBC he worried Western leaders might fail to act in Syria because of the experience of foreign intervention in Iraq.

airtightは「〈米俗〉食品の缶詰」（英辞郎 on the WEB)という意味もありますが形容詞では「気密の」「＜議論・計画・アリバイなどが＞完全な」という意味になります。（『ジーニアス英和辞典　第４版』大修館）
