Japan being popular destination for Thai tourists

Tours to Japan are attracting attention at an international travel fair in Thailand as they have become cheaper thanks to the recent fall in the yen.



The annual travel fair, the largest in Southeast Asia, is underway in the Thai capital, Bangkok. About 1,000 travel companies and organizations from around the world have put up booths to promote various international tourist attractions.



Tourism divisions of Japanese municipal governments and operators of theme parks are promoting tourist spots and local specialties.

Japanese travel agencies are promoting tours to Japan, which have become cheaper as the yen has declined against other foreign currencies.

destinationは「目的地」「訪問地」「行き先」「旅行先」などの意味で広く知られていますが、こういう文脈では、"Often used attributively to indicate desirability, as "a destination resort" (a resort that is a fine, desirable destination)"という意味での用法が多いようです（安易にWebloを参照）。desirable、つまり「行ってみたい国」のニュアンスがあることをお忘れなく。
