have leaked fuel

今回扱うのは、このブログでも何度か取り上げられている、ボーイングの航空トラブルに関する表現です。
様々な航空トラブルが話題になっていますが、その一つである「燃料漏れ」を英語でどう表現するのだろうと思い、調べてみると、The Japan Timesではhave leaked fuelと表現されていました。みなさんご存知と思いますが、leakには動詞として「…をもらす」「[…から]もれる」などの意味があります。（『ジーニアス英和辞典　第４版』大修館書店）ここではこの語を分詞として使用し、「燃料もれ」を表現していました。
簡単な表現でしたが、日本語から英語にはすぐに出てこない表現だったので、しっかりおさえておきたいと思います。（Jakie）
