wrap up #3

私は大学でドイツ語を少し勉強しており、ドイツに興味があるので、現地のニュースを見てみました。
ドイツでは光熱費の上昇に伴い、家での過ごし方が変化したようです。

Nearly 90 percent of people asked by standards watchdog Dekra said that they were actively careful about how much electricity they used during cooking, and were mindful to turn lights off.
Forty six percent of the 1,100 people questioned said they preferred to wrap up warm instead of fiddling with their thermostats.

ここで扱われているwrap upですが、wrapといえば「包む、巻きつける」などの他に意味を知らなかったので、調べてみました。LDOCEによると、wrap upは”to finish a job, meeting etc:”という意味もありますが、ここでは”to put on warm clothes”という意味が適切だと思います。つまり、「着込む」という意味ですね。
