infestationは「発生、襲来」や「寄生体が侵入した状態」などを意味します（cf. infest）。よく知られているのはアメリカやオーストラリアの穀倉地帯などで起きる「イナゴの襲来」（infestations of locusts）でしょう。 噛まれると皮膚が腐るほどの毒を有している種だそうで、駆除が必要です。（EnDough）
Poisonous spider infestation in Hyogo
A swarm of about 100 poisonous spiders was discovered in a drainage pipe in Hyogo prefecture.
According to the police, a local man spotted a swarm of spiders at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture and reported it to police.
Police officers rushed to the scene and found more than 100 spiders inside a drainage pipe in a river wall about five meters high located along a walkway.
They were redbacks, a type of spider that is on the Japanese government’s official list of invasive and foreign species.
