Abstract
This presentation defines what CLIL is and is not. The term CLIL is juxtaposed to the terms immersion and CBI. Pedagogy that is central to successful CLIL programmes is explored. Forces, mechanisms and counterweights required for successful programme management are discussed. This discussion includes and exploration of some of the challenges faced in programme implementation from the primary to the tertiary levels.
