少し古くなりましたが、女子レスリングの国別対抗戦、ワールドカップ（Ｗ杯）では５５キロ級の吉田沙保里が１９歳のワレリア・ジョロボワに１−２の判定負けを喫してしまいました。吉田選手が負けたのは連勝が１１９で止まった０８年１月のＷ杯以来で、連勝記録は５８で止まりました。でも彼女のことだから、もう気持ちを切り替えて前を見据えていると思います。
さて連勝ストップを伝える記事で気になる表現がありました。ここのnaturalはどういう意味なのでしょうか。何でもないようなこういう用法が一番やっかいです。GPくん、押さえ込んでください。（UG）
Food for thought: Yoshida tries to put loss behind her
The loss, which snapped a 58-match winning streak, was Yoshida's first and only since a similarly stunning defeat by American Marcie Van Dusen in 2008, ironically also at the World Cup prior to the Olympics.
Yoshida never got a chance to avenge that loss at the Beijing Olympics, as Van Dusen lost in an earlier round, then retired.
