flagにはいろいろな意味がありますが,この文脈のflagged up by~の意味を説明する必要はないですね。でもなんでこんなミスをしたのでしょうか?まあ,日本でもTV番組にキャプションを入れることが当たり前になってきて,漢字の変換ミスは言うにおよばず,英語のスペルミスなど,増えてきていますよね。お馬鹿さんが増えているのかな(自戒を込めて)。(ゼミ生 Shohei)
                 
No doubt there are a few red faces at American news channel CNN today after one geographically challenged employee failed to locate London, one of the world’s biggest capital cities, on their map.

The graphic, which aimed to show viewers where the recent phone hacking arrests had taken place, instead pointed to Norfolk, in East Anglia, about 120 miles from the capital.

The humorous but embarrassing blunder, shown on the leading US news channel on Sunday was flagged up by scores of Twitter users on Sunday evening after a viewer immediately spotted the mistake and put it up on the social networking site.

One witty Twitter user said he was waiting to see the coach loads of American tourists trying to find Buckingham Palace in the rural backwaters of Norfolk.
