LDOCEによると第1義の説明に “especially British English to go and get something or someone and bring them back”とありました。 日本の辞書では、結構後ろの方に載せられることが多いように思えますが、LDOCEの第2義の定義にある、“to be sold for a particular amount of money, especially at a public sale - used especially in news reports”という意味がしっくりきます。 (Othello)
