figure outとfind out

いつもfigure outとfind outの違いの区別ができないゼミ生To To Toです。
今回はこの二つの表現の違いについてです。英英辞典のLDOCEにはfigure out はto think about a problem or situation until you find the answer or understand what has happenedとありました。またfind outはto get information, after trying to discover it or by chanceとありました。find outの例文を見てみると，I found out that the class was cancelled.「クラスが休講になっていることがわかった」とあるのに対し，figure outの例文はI figured out that class was cancelled by looking at the website「クラスが休講になっている事をホームページで調べてわかった」とありました。LDOCEの定義と上述の文から判断するとfind outは自分自身で考えたり，調べたりして何かを発見するのではなく自然に発見したり，人から聞いた時に使うのに対し，figure outは自分自身で考えたり，調べたりして発見するのに使われるようです。補足として例文をつけましたのでご参照ください。

I found out that seat was empty.
I found out that they started dating when I heard it from my friend.

I figured out what the book meant when I researched it.
I figured out that I was wrong instead of her.
