今回は少し視点を変えて，身の回りにあるものから英語の落穂拾いをします。
以下の文章は，問い合わせメールの返信の一部です。

注目するのは，go aheadです。
まずこれを見た瞬間に，Go ahead. 「どうぞ」と習ったことを思い出しました。ここでも同様の意味で使用するのであろうかと考えましたが，文脈から「どうぞ」ではないと推測しました。辞書をみると，「＜人・仕事などが＞進歩する，はかどる」とありました（『ジーニアス英和辞典』第3版，大修館書店）。つまりここではWe can then go ahead and issue you a full refund for this order.「それから業務を進めこの注文の全額返金を致します。」になります。
またgo aheadを「どうぞ」の意味で使用するのは，命令文で許可を表す時です。以下は例文です（『ジーニアス英和辞典』同上）。
May I borrow this pen? Yes, go ahead.
