辞書の意味と照らし合わせながら，以下の赤字の語彙を訳してみました。

The Royal Mint yesterday unveiled this commemoration coin to mark Prince William and Kate Middleton's engagement. But the peculiar-looking faces on the £5 memento aren't a great likeness.
・The Royal Mintを分解して考えてみると，Royalは「王室の」という意味ですが，では，Mintは？辞書で調べてみると，名詞で「造幣局」という意味がありました（『ジーニアス英和辞典』第4版，大修館書店）。合わせた意味は「英国王室造幣局」といった意味になると思います。
・次の赤字部分では，新たに作られた婚約記念コインにかたどられたWilliam王子とKete Middletonさんのお顔あんまり似ていない事について述べられています。
赤字のpeculierには「変な，一風変わった，妙な」などの意味があるため，上記に示した文意をここではとることが可能だと思われます。

inspiredは感銘を受けたり，感激したりする時によく用いられますが，ここでは意味的に「影響を受けた，〜をもとにした」といった意味がはまる気がします。そこで，辞書を引いてみると，「〈事が〉（原因となって）〈行為，書物，芸術作品など〉引き起こす，生じさせる，もたらす」と記されていました（『ジーニアス英和辞典』同上）。
さらに，finely- chiselled appearranceはchiselledがポイントです。米国ではchiseledと表記されるこの単語は「〈鼻，顔などが〉彫の深い」という意味の形容詞です。実写と比べるとコインのKateさんは彫が深く，ちょっと老けて見えますね。
William's image looks more flattering but he has been engraved with what seems to be an Elvis Presley quiff.
今度はコインに描かれたWilliam王子像に対する講評ですね。flatterと聞くと「お世辞を言う」などの意味が浮かびます。お世辞は実物より良く言うことなので，コインに描かれているWilliam王子の御顔は実物よりも良く（イケメンに？）に描かれているという事でしょう。確かにお父様似の部分が上手く描かれていないような。
また，quiffは「《英》（男の）額の上になで上げた巻き毛」という意味があります（『ジーニアス英和辞典』同上）。quiffの意味は知りませんでしたが，コインのWilliam王子像とElvis Presleyの髪型を照らし合わせて意味を導くことが出来ました。
Despite the dodgy depictions, the coin has been approved by the Prince as well as the Queen.
すぐ前のDispiteや今までの話の流れから，dodgyはあまりいい意味ではなさそうな気がします。辞書をみると，dodgyの意味の中に「質の悪い」といった意味を見つけました（『ジーニアス英和辞典』同上）。Kateさんの肖像は出来が悪く，William王子のは良く描かれているため，「良くも悪くもあまり似ていない肖像にも関らず」といった意味が入るのではないでしょうか。

Project director Dave Knight said: "We have been recording historical events for over 1,100 years and we're fortunate to be in a role that allows us to add to that legacy. The £5 Alderney coin we have designed is a wonderful way to celebrate and remember the start of Prince William and Catherine Middleton's life together."
The fact the mould had been struck was reported in October - before the couple had even announced they were engaged and fuelling speculation Royal Mint had inside knowledge of the nuptials.
ここでの注目は2つ。mouldとstruck（strike）です。mould（米mold）は「（鋳物などの）鋳型」を意味します。多義語のstrikeは辞書を見ると「〈貨幣・メダルを〉鋳造する」という意味がありました（『ジーニアス英和辞典』同上）。strikeは「打つ，行く，進む」を原義とした単語です。この際他の意味も確認しておきたいと思います。
fuelは動詞で「〈不安・思惑などを〉あおる」という意味があり，後ろのspeculationにかかっています。また，nuptialは「結婚の」という意味があるため，「英国王室造幣局が王子の結婚に関する機密情報を得たという世論の憶測をさらにあおった」という解釈ができるのではないでしょうか。
At the time it said: "Like most businesses, we plan ahead for commercial opportunities." But people who want to get their hands on one could be in for a bit of a wait as the Royal Mint said yesterday production is not due to start until next month.

The nickel coin, which will be struck to a higher specification than circulation coins, costs £9.99. The sterling silver version will be £55.50 - of which just 15,000 will be made - while just 1,000 will be struck in 22-carat gold at £1,550. They can be ordered on Royal Mint's website.
struck（strike）は先ほどの「鋳造する」という意味で用いられています。ここでのポイントはto a highです。意味は「高水準で」となります。新たに鋳造されるコインは今出回っているものよりも高水準のものとなるようです。（ゼミ生 gacha）
