John Neary, who became Ireland's ambassador to Japan in September, says his mission is to promote Irish economic interests.
During a courtesy visit Friday to The Japan Times, Neary stressed that he would like to promote Irish culture to achieve this mission because he sees a strong connection between cultural and business interests.

sales-pitch（売り込み口上）という表現がありますが，ここでのpitchは動詞で「（品物・利点など）を（熱心に）売り込む，宣伝する」（『スーパーアンカー英和辞典』第4版，学研教育出版）という意味です。また，英英にはto try to persuade someone to do business with you（Longman Active Study Dictionary）とあり，文中のpromoteに類義語関係にあることがわかります。
