guilty pleasures

面白い記事がありました。Pくん,guilty pleasuresとは何でしょうか?(UG)
For true guilty pleasures, atonement is not required
By Cathy Lynn Grossman, USA TODAY
It's not the first cupcake, it's the second. On the same day.
It's our "secret single behavior" from Sex and the City that we hide from our pals.
Guilty pleasures are those lowbrow, high-calorie things we know we shouldn't enjoy, but which harm no one — like admitting we love Snooki on Jersey Shore.
This is guilt with a wink, not the "big G" kind of guilt we fess up to a priest or regret on Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, which begins Friday night. Big G guilt makes us seek forgiveness from God and others.
"I would be very reluctant to befriend anyone who never felt guilty," says Rabbi David Wolpe of Sinai Temple in Los Angeles. "A guiltless person is a dangerous person. They will never notice when they trample on you. They take their injustices in stride. And you shouldn't do that."
But guilty pleasures are indulgences, not injustices. And the twinge of guilt they give us is part of their charm. Clutching junk food or giggling at lewd, crude humor on Family Guy, we cross a line into the naughty zone. So why do we do it? We're rewarded with distraction from the stresses in life, an imagined sense of power or a vicarious thrill, experts say.
