in the pink（第2弾）

以前このブログではin the pinkという表現が採り上げられました。

今回，in the pinkが実際にThe Japan Times ONLINE（2010年8月27日付）の記事で用いられているのを発見しましたので紹介します。

IN THE PINK
Wholesalers examine salmon Thursday in the first auction of the season at Sapporo's central fish market. About 40 tons of the Hokkaido catch was sold in the kickoff ceremony, with female salmon fetching as much as \630 per kg and the male variety getting \550 per kg.

この記事は魚市場での競りに関するもので，pinkという語にサケ（の身の色）と「とても元気［健康］で(in the pink)」の二つの意味がかけられていることがわかります。これをふまえると，見出し部は「いきのいいサケ」や「にぎわうサケの競り」といった解釈ができるでしょう。

pinkを用いることでサケのすがたをも想像させる面白い記事でした。次回はカメ女さんです。（ゼミ生　pear）
