Shohei's report from Eugene, Oregon #2

Japanese hairdresser

Shohei

I went to a hair salon in Eugene on April 28th. I met a wonderful female hair dresser there. We enjoyed taking each other and a good time. I like her very much.
First, she is funny and easy to talk with. It was the first time I got a hair cut in America and I was very nervous when I went to her place. It was, as it turned out, just another unnecessary worry. She was so kind, which made me relaxed. While she was cutting my hair, she talked to me something interesting and I felt as if I had known for a long time. I think she is just like my mother.
Second, I was impressed with her life. She is a native Japanese woman named Harumi. She has been staying in America for 28 years. We talked a lot and I found she was so ambitious. She told me about lots of things she has experienced so far. Before working in America, she had a job in Japan and she worked for six days in a week! She was working day & night and she used to go home at five in the morning. It should be so hard for her. She has a sister who was staying in America. One day she went to America to see her sister, and she also went to some places for sightseeing. One of the places was Eugene, and she felt very comfortable with Eugene. The nature, the people and everything in Eugene were so great that she fell in love with all of them. She had stayed in America for two months, but she came back to America in a week after she went back to Japan. She loved everything in Eugene and she decided to live there. She started to go to school to study English, because she would get a job and English ability was a must. She studied English for three years at the school and she began to go on to a hairdresser school next. After graduation, she started working as a hair dresser. She has been staying in America for 28 years, and now she is 62 years old. I thought she was motivated and ambitious because she never gave up her dream to be a hairdresser in America. I was very impressed with her and I admire her. To achieve something needs lots of time and effort, but she achieved her goal just by herself. I learned an important lesson from her to achieve something in my life.
She is very wonderful and I am very happy to meet her. She is the one of people I like very much in America.
