The singer, wearing a tailored, sparkling jumpsuit, was walking along the stage while performing her single "Irreplaceable" to encourage those closest to her in the audience to sing along.
As she turned around to head back in the other direction, a concertgoer reached up and swatted her on her bum.

名詞のbumは「乞食、浮浪者；乞食生活」「怠け者、ぐうたら」「…マニア、…狂」の他に「尻、けつ」という意味もありますね。（『ジーニアス英和辞典 第４版』大修館）LDOCEにも"the part of your body that you sit on [= bottom]"と載っています。bottomから来ている言葉なのですね。
それにしてもこの男性ファンの行動はひどいですよね。ビヨンセのパフォーマンスに興奮した結果かもしれませんが…。お尻をたたかれても、歌い続けたビヨンセはさすがプロですね！(Hatahata)

今回は記事中のtrusts his life to the safety harnessという箇所に注目したいと思います。trustといえば「信用，信用する」などという意味でおなじみですが、記事中ではtrust B to Aという形で「〈人が〉A〈人〉にB〈大事なもの〉を委託する，預ける，任せる」(『ウィズダム英和辞典 第二版』三省堂)という意味で用いられています。「信用する」というニュアンスが同じく感じられるのではないでしょうか。
