Professor Matsusaka's Lecture

My impressions on the final lecture by Prof. Matsusaka

Prof. Matsusaka gave his final lecture at Waseda University yesterday under the title “Learning Phonetics from Learners”. The lecture was conducted entirely in English. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed his wonderful lecture. It was a great inspiration to me.

First is about his English skills. He spoke English really fluently as if he were a native speaker. I truly realized how great he is. I want to reach that level exhibited by Prof. Matsusaka in the future. So, I should improve my English phonetics skills more. Another thing was that I was deeply impressed by his passions of teaching English. He said that he studied phonetics from his students. I thought that the idea was one of his educational philosophies.

I was really happy to attend his lecture. I just hope that this was not the last. I appreciate Prof. Matsusaka for giving us such a memorable day. (amphibian)
