Dementia puts financial assets of the elderly at risk

TOKYO (Reuters) - Yumiko Okubo, 71, had forgotten how to heat up food.
“What’s a microwave?” she asked her husband, Eiichi.
Yumiko was in the early stages of dementia, struggling with vocabulary and unable to teach the kimono-dressing classes she had run for 25 years.

まず,LDOCEで意味を調べてみると,“an illness that affects the brain and memory, and makes you gradually lose the ability to think and behave normally” とあり,『ウィズダム英和辞典』には,「認知症,痴呆」とありました。

: from Latin, from demens, dement- ‘out of one’s mind’.” (Otoyo)
