My impressions of a PEPSJ conference

I participated in a PEPSJ conference held at Kanda campus of Senshu University. Let me tell you what I learned and felt.

I attended some presentations, and was impressed with a talk about English communication by Prof. Honna. In his lecture, I learned three key points to communicate with people through English. They are following three points: understanding people around us, understanding ourselves and accepting diversity. In my case, I am not good at explaining our culture because I do not understand it deeply in spite of our own culture. I had an experience that I was not able to explain about miso soup to my host mother. There are some reasons in my English skills, also I was lack of knowledge of miso. To remind it, I understood I had to know our culture if we really understand each other. （aqua）
