As was announced here, Prof. Matsusaka gave a special seminar at Senshu university yesterday. The theme of his lecture was about the sounds between English and Japanese.
It was a good chance for me to check my English pronunciation. I still make a lot of errors in English pronunciation. In particular, I’m very poor at distinguiishing “ds” and “s”.
Prof. Matsusaka gave us a knack of how we could go about pronouncing them. He went so far as to say that if we pronounce them well, native speakers of English would be surprised at our pronunciation. I would like to reach that level someday. (Blue Sky)
