travel-log of Vancouver

Dear Dr. Tanabe,

A half of the spring term ended, and I took one-week-holiday. Taking advantage of this week off, I went to Vancouver with Kotaro. That was my first trip out of Calgary. Actually, I wanted to go to Toronto, but I gave up because of the high price of a flight ticket. I’m thinking I will take a trip to Toronto next consecutive holidays.

Before booking a hotel, my host mother gave me advice to find a good one, so the inn that we stayed at satisfied me. A free shuttle bus took us to the downtown area, and we went thence to other tourist spots. The first day, we visited Capilano Suspension Bridge which is abundantly blessed with nature. The atmosphere of this place was serene and made me relax.

The second day, we saw the sights of Stanley Park and went around by bicycle. Fortunately, it was sunny; therefore, I really enjoyed watching the scenery. The other spot which we went to was Granville Island. I thought this is the best place to buy gifts because there are a lot of souvenir shops in this area. You can get a variety of presents here.

The third day. We were thinking we were going to Victoria Island, but the adverse weather discouraged us from getting on a ferry. We should have make allowance for the weather conditions when we made a plan. Instead of going there, we made an impromptu visit to Science World. On that evening, we had dinner with Aki-San!! This is what I want to tell you most and one of the big events during our trip.

The last day, we went shopping at an outlet mall called “McAthurGlen” nearby the airport. I could refresh myself with this week off. The rest of the spring term began today. I’ve been focusing on studying since I got back from the trip.

Thank you,
Daiki
