　取り上げるのはrebuke / rɪbjúːk / です。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第四版,大修館書店）には「〈人が〉〈人〉を〔…のことで/…したことで〕強く[厳しく]非難する,しかる」や「叱責する[される]」とありました。またLDOCEにはto speak to someone severely about something they have done wrongとありました。formalとも記載があり、公的なものに使われるものであることがわかりました。Rebuchierという古フランス語が語源となってできた単語のようです。(rain)
