Merriam Websterを引いてみますと、第二義に”an annoyingly eccentric person; also: one who is overly enthusiastic about a particular subject or activity”, “ a bad-tempered person”と記されておりました。つまり、「*1 (個人的な主張に固執する)変わり者；不平家；(物事に一途になった)凝り屋，偏執狂*2；*3 うそ［ありもしないこと］を言う厄介者」（プログレッシブ英和）のことです。大統領選当時、ドナルド・トランプを熱烈的に支持していた人々全員を示す言葉だと思いました。（WREN）
