Retired luxury sleeper train rides again as rail fans’ hostel

Rail fans who bade a final good night last year to the Hokutosei train can climb aboard again in Tokyo where a new hostel has recreated the atmosphere of luxury overnight train travel.

The Train Hostel Hokutosei, featuring furnishings, fixtures and fittings from the last long-distance luxury sleeper train, is set to open on Dec. 15 in the Nihonbashi-Bakurocho district of the capital’s Chuo Ward.
