Zoo visitor who wrestled with panda was 'showing off to his girlfriend'
The visitor was allegedly showing off to his female friends at the zoo – but ended up in a very sticky situation he soon regretted.
A zoo visitor filmed wrestling with a panda in the bear's enclosure was reportedly showing off in front of his girlfriend.
The man had been touring Nanchang Zoo in China’s Jiangxi province when he let himself into the panda house.
At first, the footage seems to show the pair playing around and the tourist doesn't seem too alarmed by the encounter after he wakes up the sleeping panda.
But amusement quickly turns into panic when the panda wrestles him to the ground and he struggles to free from his strong grip.
He eventually manages to escape, running away from the bear and fleeing the enclosure.
The man was reportedly having a tour of the zoo with two female friends before climbing into the panda house.
He has now said he was trying to show off by teasing the animal.
The disturbed panda was at first seen on the zoo's CCTV footage hugging the man’s leg before sitting on him.
He was later given a medically assessment but amazingly escaped unharmed.

stickyといえば「ねばねば、べとべとする」といった意味が浮かびますが、『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版、大修館書店）で確認をすると「（状況・立場・問題が）難しい、とても不愉快な」とあり、「ややこしい状況」を表す場合は“sticky situation”が用いられることがわかりました。
Oxford dictionaries.com.では“Involving problems, difficult or awkward.”と定義されています。
彼女にかっこいい？ところを見せようとしたはずが、逆にパンダに懲らしめられる姿を見られていまい、まさに「とんだ状況」になってしまったことがわかります。(flyingbird)
