中国のサファリパークでとんでもない「窃盗」事件が起こりました。
Tiger tears off and steals car bumper at Chinese safari park
An unfortunate couple were victims of a brazen daylight theft at Badaling Safari World in Beijing earlier this month. Seemingly unconcerned that it was being videoed during the crime, we can watch the tiger easily peel off the couple’s front bumper as if it were made of paper.

今回取り上げる単語は、bootyです。
Oxford Dictionary of English (Second Edition Reserved, Oxford University Press)によると、 "valuable stolen goods,especially those seized in war"や "something gained or won"などと書かれておりました。
『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版，大修館）によると、「戦利品，獲物，もうけ，賞品」などと書かれておりました。また全く別の意味で、「尻，ケツ」といった意味もあるそうです。
さらに俗語で他の意味もあったのですが、あまりキレイな言葉ではありませんでした。でも同時に、bootyで、なぜか「長靴をはいた猫」（Puss in Boots）を思い出しました。そういう意味ではbootyという語彙選択はこのニュースにはぴったりのような気がします。
なお、brazen daylight theftは日本語の「白昼堂々の窃盗」という表現に似ていると思いました。(Gomez)
