今回取り上げる単語は、pranceです。dancingと並んでいるので、何かしらの動きを表す単語であると予想しました。
Oxford Dictionary of English (Second Edition Reserved, Oxford University Press)で調べたところ、” (of a horse) move with high springy steps”と載っておりました。
また『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版、大修館）で調べたところ、意味の一つに「〈馬が〉前脚をあげて跳びはねる，はねながら進む」がありました。
どうやらpranceは主に馬の動作を表すようですが、この記事では華麗に舞う猫に使われています。
余談ですが記事内の動画を見てみると、danceではなくpranceの方が正しい気がします。（Gomez）
