今回取り上げるのは、“with flying colors”という表現です。Cambridge Dictionaries Onlineで調べてみると、“If you do something such as pass an exam with flying colours, you do it very successfully.”とありました。さらに『ジーニアス英和辞典』（大修館書店）では、「（試験・事業などで）大成功を収めて、完全に」といった意味が確認できました。さらにここは対ロッキーズ戦でしたの、testにrocky（きびしい）という形容詞がしゃれで用いられています。
ちなみに、“the colors”で「国旗、軍旗」（『ジーニアス英和辞典』 同上）などを表わすことから、「勝利で旗が翻っている」様子がこの表現の語源となっているようです。(ninetails)
