今回取り上げる表現は、“stop-and-frisk tactics”です。手持ちの辞書では載っていなかったので、インターネットで調べてみたところ、「警察官が不審人物を止めて職務質問や持ち物検査、ボディーチェックをすること」とありました。そこで、“frisk”を見てみると、『ジーニアス英和辞典第４版』（大修館書店）に「＜人＞のボディーチェックをする」と載っていました。また、以前に“stop-and-frisk encounter”と“stop-question-frisk”が取り上げられていました。これらも同じ意味として用いられています。(Nao)
