Oregon Thrashes Florida State in Rose Bowl and Heads to National Championship Game

Oregon, led by the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Marcus Mariota, ended Florida State’s 29-game winning streak with a 59-20 victory in the Rose Bowl on Thursday.

The game served as one of two national-championship semifinals in the inaugural season of the four-team College Football Playoff. Oregon (13-1) will face the winner of Thursday night’s Sugar Bowl between Alabama and Ohio State in a title game on Jan. 12 in Arlington, Tex.
