pick their brains

Can I pick your brain?

Jeter, Tanaka, Betances named to All-Star team

TANAKA (through an interpreter)

On whether he’ll go even if he doesn’t pitch: “It’s obviously an event that not everybody can be a part of. I’m very excited to get this opportunity.”

On what he’s expecting: “Obviously I’m looking forward to it. To be part of it and to be able to meet with some of the best pitchers in the major leagues, that’s going to be a great experience for me. If there’s a chance, I’d definitely like to be able to talk with some of them and maybe pick their brains.”

On being voted by the players: “I think getting votes from the guys that you’re actually facing, that’s probably one of the best compliments that I can get.”
