It’s cooled off considerably.
For New York’s ferrets, things are looking up: The city is reconsidering its ban on keeping them as pets, The Times reports.
That leaves dozens of other animals on the list of forbidden pets the city created in 1999.
What about them?
Some of the entries make sense — alligator snapping turtles, for instance, could easily snap your finger in two.
Pythons and scorpions also seem like no-brainers.
no-brainerは，文字通りには「ほとんど思考を要しないもの」ですが，比喩的に「考えなくてもよい」→「頭を悩ませる問題ではない，当然の流れ」などという意味で用いられるのでしたね。（UG）
