In 2009 when a string of show-business celebrities were charged with drug abuse in Japan, the country's entertainment industry launched for the first time an antidrug campaign in collaboration with police. But today, only a handful of entertainment offices and show biz production companies continue to carry out countermeasures against drugs. Experts, therefore, have lashed out at the entertainment industry, with one of them saying, "This is a typical case of 'Vows made in storms are forgotten in calms.' They are too naive about the problem."
