Figure skating: Asada intends to skip upcoming season

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan's three-time women's world figure skating champion Mao Asada revealed Monday she is leaning toward sitting out the 2014-2015 season.

"I have decided to give my body and my emotions some rest and take one year off," the 23-year-old Asada said. "I want to give careful thought to what I'll do a year from now. I have not yet decided to retire."
