少し古い記事ですが，増税に対する市民の反応を取り上げたものです。ここででてくる"resign to"が気になりました。もちろん「辞任」ではありません。『Wisdom英和辞典（第三版）』で調べると，「従う，甘んじる，ゆだねる」などという意味がありました。ニュアンスは「好ましくないこと，やむをえず」というものです。増税を行うことは日本の予算構成などを考えるとやむ負えないということが市民の反応でしょう。（Ume）
