UG先生ご指名ありがとうございます。さっそく”check into”をWisdom英和辞典（第三版）』（三省堂）で調べると「（ホテルに）チェックインする，（病院に）入院する」という意味が出てきました。つまりイアンソープは鬱病とアルコール中毒者のために入院しているという意味であると思いました。ホテルに泊まるときのチェックインという言葉はおなじみですが，病院に入院するときに使えることを知りました。（Ume）
