stalk through

またまた陰惨なテロ事件が起きてしまいました。世界のメディアはこぞってこのニュースを伝えています。

stalkというとstalkerの方のイメージが強くなりますが、ここのstalk throughは「気取って大またに歩く,闊歩する」に近い感じで、LDOCEでは"to walk in a proud or angry way, with long steps"とあります。テロリストが銃や手榴弾をもってシッピングモールを闊歩した様子が伝わすPVです。(Jakie)

Kenya police in mall stand-off with terrorists after 39 killed

Gunmen from the Somali terrorist group Al Shabaab have stormed a shopping mall in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, killing at least 39 people and injuring more than 150.

Shoppers fled in panic as the heavily armed gunmen attacked the mall at midday on Saturday (local time), and photos from inside showed bloodied bodies sprawled on the floor.

Survivors described how the gunmen stalked through the mall, throwing grenades and shooting shoppers as they went.

Kenyan security forces say surviving gunmen are now holed up inside a supermarket in the mall and are holding an unknown number of hostages.

French and Canadian citizens are confirmed to be among the dead, but there is no indication that any Australians have been hurt.
