to come from 5 shots back

全英オープンゴルフでは、6バーディー、1ボギーの66をマークしたフィル・ミケルソンが大逆転で初優勝した。

ここのcome from 5 shots backはcome from behindと同じ意味だと思いますが、5打差という場合にはbackも使うわけですね。「5打差をはね返し」といいうことなのでしょうか。(Jakie)

Phil Mickelson Comes From 5 Shots Back to Win His First British Open

Phil Mickelson came from five shots back on Sunday to surge into the lead at the British Open, using four birdies on the back nine and some jittery par saves on the course’s most difficult holes to win his first British Open. Mickelson finished three under par.

Among those that Mickelson beat were Lee Westwood, the major-free major talent who started the day in the lead only to squander it with a string of bogeys. Westwood, a 40-year-old Englishman who has never won a major in 62 tries, struggled as the day went on.
