抗議デモが頻発しているブラジルですが、もうこれ以上耐えられないという人々の不満が一挙に噴出したものだと言われています。まさにthe last strawです。"the last of a series (as of events or indignities) that brings one beyond the point of endurance" （Webster）。（GP）
It is reported that anti-government rallies have been held in over one hundred cities in Brazil and this shows the severity of the crisis for Rousseff. The trigger in both Brazil and Turkey initially appears to be over normal issues whereby one wouldn’t expect enormous passions to challenge the ruling governments of both nations.
Yet, it could be stated that the issues which sparked the mass demonstrations in Brazil and Turkey were based on being the last straw in a chain of many more serious issues. Therefore, once a minor event happened all the pent up anger came out and suddenly the crisis began to snowball in both respective nations.
