Another Twitter user, Jo Evans, asked the O2 on Tuesday: “Is he planning on doing this again tonight or can someone take control of the jumped up prima donna?”
The venue replied: “We will be doing everything within our power to ensure Justin makes it on stage at the right time.”
prima donnaと聞くと、「歌劇の主役｛花形｝女性歌手」（『リーダーズ英和 第２版』研究社）を思い浮かべるのですが（漱石の『坊ちゃん』もそうです！）、この記事では「気まぐれ屋、わがまま｛身勝手｝なやつ」（ibid）という意味で使用されています。念のため、Cambridge Dictionaries Onlineでも調べてみると、 ‘someone who demands to be treated in a special way and is difficult to please’と定義されていました。
有名になったからといって、遅刻が許されるわけではないので、今後は注意してもらいたいですね(Shou-VR*)
