ここで今回気になったのは、hinge onという表現です。hingeというのは「（開き戸などの）ちょうつがい；関節」を意味します。また、ここで使われているように、hinge onという形で「[…]次第である」という意味を表すことができます。（『ジーニアス英和辞典　第４版』大修館書店）恥ずかしながら知らない表現だったので、depend onとセットにしておさえておきたいと思います。（Jakie）
