Several dead in expressway tunnel collapse
An expressway tunnel around 80 kilometers west of Tokyo caved in Sunday, leaving at least three vehicles trapped, with several bodies confirmed in one of them, police said.
One of the three vehicles, confirmed to be carrying five people, caught fire, while another person, detected in a truck believed to belong to a food wholesaler, had not responded to calls from outside, the police said.
The police and firefighters are investigating if other people are trapped in the tunnel, they said.
