Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, who has just won his seventh Roland Garros title, had his watch worth €300,000 stolen in Paris, his press office has confirmed.

The watch was a Richard Mille, which Nadal has worn at every game since 2010 based on a sponsorship agreement. Nadal stated that the watch had disappeared from the Melia Royal Alma Hotel, where he was staying while playing at Roland Garros.

According to the French press, the Spaniard left the watch on his bedside table on Monday at around 9:30 p.m. and it was gone when he awoke the following morning at 10:30 a.m.

Neither the door nor the windows of the room, which his parents and partner had access to, had been forced. The player left France for Germany to play in the Halle tournament, where he faces Slovak Lukas Lacko in the first round.

The watch, one of just 500 pieces, was a RM 027 Tourbillon model which weighs in at less than 20 grams. It uses aerospace technology and is made of titanium and Lital, an alloy used in the construction of Formula 1 cars, Airbus planes, satellites, rockets and helicopters.
