Recycle your Christmas waste

AFTER the celebrations are over, North Yorkshire County Council is urging Whitby residents to recycle their cards, wrapping paper and Christmas trees. Waste recycling centre locations are open each day, apart from Wednesdays, between 8.30am and 4pm.

“We all create a lot of waste at Christmas but most of it need not end up in landfill,” said county councillor Chris Metcalfe, executive member for waste management. “We can all do our bit to reduce, reuse or recycle it, helping save money and the environment,” he added.
