通訳コンテストのお知らせです。通訳コンテストはうちでも，もう９年目になりますが，明海大さんのは本格的です。希望者は申し込むこと。（UG）

2010年度　明海大学通訳コンテスト
この度、明海大学で初めての一般公開通訳コンテストを行うことになりました。通訳の大きな割合を占める会社での商談がテーマです。是非奮ってご応募ください。

日時：2010年12月18日（土）13:00-18:00
場所：明海大学　〒279-8550千葉県浦安市明海1丁目
講演：東京外国語大学教授　同時通訳者　鶴田知佳子先生「世界を日本に、日本を世界に伝えるためには」

日本の会社で、海外支社であるアメリカ本社およびアジア本社
の支社長が、日本での会議に戻ったときの戦略会議とする。会
議には、社長、重役などが参加しているが、現地社長や本部の
セールス本部長、マーケティング本部長が主に会議で報告・発
言する。テーマは、それぞれの市場の分析とグローバル販売戦
略を扱う。

A Japanese company with overseas branches in the United States and Asia is holding a strategy meeting in Japan. The branch presidents are taking part in the meeting. The main branch president, and other executives are also at the meeting, but the main speakers at the meeting will be: the overseas branch presidents, the sales director, and the marketing director. The main agenda at the meeting is
market analysis and global sales strategy.

コンテストは2ラウンド方式で行う。基本的に交互に通訳するが、パートナーが通訳できない場合や言葉に困った場合は代わりに通訳したり、助けてあげてもよい。電子辞書、資料、単語リスト、パートナーのメモ等はすべて使用可とする。通訳時間は基本的にもとの音声のおよそ２倍の時間以内とするが、早く終わった場合は、旗をあげ、審査員に終わったことを知らせる。

There will be two rounds. Participants will interpret in turn (alternate), as a basic rule, but will be allowed to help their partners or interpret for their partners, if
their partners need assistance. Electronic dictionaries, documents, word lists, memos written by one’s partner are all allowed during the interpretation. The time allocated to each segment will be twice as long as the original statement, but participants will be asked to raise a flag if they have finished their interpretation before the time limit.

第一ラウンド
各チーム2名の通訳者は、英語から日本語方向への（10−30秒ほどの）発言を2回ずつ、同じく日本語から英語方向への（10−30秒ほどの）発言2回ずつを担当する。※

※発言時間は参加チームの数によって上下する。

First Round
Each team will be composed of two interpreters. Each
participant will interpret four times – two times
from English to Japanese, and two times from Japanese to
English. (10-30 seconds, depending on the number of
teams).

第二ラウンド（決勝ラウンド）
得点数が高い3チームが決勝ラウンドに進む。各チーム2名の通訳者は、英語から日本語方向への（30秒−240秒ほどの）発言を2回ずつ、同じく日本語から英語方向への（30—240秒ほどの）発言2回ずつを担当する。　　　　　　　　　
　　　　　　　　　　　　　
Second Round (Finals)
The top three teams will advance to the final round. Each participant will interpret from English to Japanese twice, and Japanese to English twice. Statements will vary from about 30-240 seconds.

2010年度　明海大学通訳コンテスト Meikai University
Interpreting Contest 2010

第一ラウンドは参加チームが抽選でテーマを一つずつ選ぶ。１−９の順番で前に出て通訳し、上位3チームが決勝ラウンドに進む。第二ラウンド（決勝ラウンド）は、１−３、−６、７−９の三つのグループのいずれかのテーマを抽選で選び、番号順に通訳する。それぞれの会議で直前に資料が出るので、資料やその他の情報源を通訳の際に使用してよい。

At the first round, participating teams draw lots to choose their theme. Participants will interpret in order from theme 1-9. The top three teams will advance to the
final round. At the second round, teams will draw lots to choose their themes from either block 1-3, 4-6, or 7-9. Participants will interpret in numerical order. Materials will be distributed before each meeting, and participants
are free to use the materials during intepretation.
