NAHA--A usually bustling main street in central Naha was temporarily cleared out on Jan. 20 as Ground Self-Defense Force members carefully disposed of an unexploded bomb from the 1945 Battle of Okinawa.
Entry to a section of the Kokusai-dori main street and the surrounding area was restricted for about an hour from 10:20 a.m. to dispose of the 50-kilogram bomb, which is believed to be from the U.S. military's arsenal.
