一難去ってまた一難。気象庁によると，台風27号は勢力を強めながら，日本列島に接近しつつあります。
packについてはすでに本ブログでも採り上げられていますが「詰める」や「まとめる」という意味の他に「〈台風などが〉〈…の強さの強風〉を伴う」という意味があります（『ウィズダム英和辞典』第3版，三省堂）。

New typhoon heading toward Japan prompts revision of landslide alerts
The Meteorological Agency and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government have temporarily lowered the standards for issuing landslide alerts on Izu Oshima Island, which was recently lashed by Typhoon Wipha, over fears that another powerful typhoon could hit the region, officials said.
… As of noon on Oct. 19, Typhoon Francisco, this year's 27th, is situated near the Mariana Islands and is moving west-northwest at 15 kilometers per hour, according to the Meteorological Agency. The atmospheric pressure at its center is 920 hectopascals and the typhoon is packing maximum winds of 55 meters per second at its center. Its maximum instantaneous wind speed is 75 meters per second.
