slam the doorは「戸を閉めて…を入れない，…への門戸を閉ざす」という意味の表現ですが，上記の場合は「（リードしている立場から）相手を突き放す」などの意味と、とることが可能だと思います。最終日，バック9（残りの9ホール）まで首位を走っていたアダム・スコット選手ですが，波に乗れず，突き放すどころか自滅で追いつかれてしまいました。ゴルフは息の長いスポーツのひとつです。まだ32歳。頑張ってほしいと思います。（GP）
